The Palestinian Spirit

ABOUT THIS PIECE: I took this picture on the wall dividing Bethlehem from Jerusalem.  It exemplified to me the humanity we all share and the positive spirit of the Palestinians.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: I have lived in Amman, Jordan for 34 years. I have a Masters degree in Middle Eastern Studies form the University of Utah. I am married to my Palestinian husband who, with his family, lost everything in 1948 when Israel was established. We have three children and three and a half grandchildren (my youngest daughter will deliver her second child in May). Although I was born 60 years ago in Los Angeles, Calidornia, my husband says my heart was born in Palestine.
