Expressions of Nakba Gallery: Award Winning Entries
From January 31 to March 31, 2008, an international competition was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Nakba: the expulsion and dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and land in 1948. The multi-media arts competition garnered more than 300 entries from participants in 16 different countries in the following five categories: visual arts, poster design, audio, digital media, and written word.
By May 15th, 2008, a distinguished jury of 17 renowned artists, writers and filmmakers reviewed the entries from the competition and selected the most compelling works for awards, honorable mention, exhibition.
